How can I give someone permanent or long-term access to upload and download files from a share?
Share Leads may add or remove access by others with WebFS accounts by making them a Member of the Share. Do this by clicking “Edit” next to the Share name in the Share List. The Share Lead may also edit permissions to each file and folder for each Share Member. Share members may then log in to WebFS to upload or download files to that Share according to their permissions. If the person you wish to add is a Client or Vendor and they do not have a WebFS account, please submit a service desk ticket here or call Technical Support to request one.
How do I set permissions on a share?
Click the Permissions icon next to any file or folder. By default, Share Members may add, edit, and delete files and folders on the Share, but only the Share Lead and system administrators may set permissions.
How do I move a file or folder to another folder?
Drag the file or folder icon from the right pane to the folder tree on the left pane. See screenshot below.
How do I work with international character sets?
WebFS supports international character sets using the Firefox web browser. Internet Explorer may alter file names that are uploaded or downloaded if they use non-english characters. In addition, it is recommended that you use a recent version of WinZip (vesion 11.2 or higher) or 7-Zip which has support for international characters in zip files. 7-Zip is free to use (even for commercial purposes) and is available at www.7-zip.org
How do I upload files over 2GB?
WebFS currently does not support uploading files larger than 4GB. In addition, some browsers do not support uploading files larger than 2GB. You may use WinZip or 7-Zip to create a zip archive that is split into multiple 2GB files that can be uploaded to WebFS. You can download all the files and then extract the large file. 7-Zip is free to use (even for commercial purposes) and is available at www.7-zip.org
How do I upload many files and/or folders at the same time?
On your computer, create a Zip file of the files and/or folders you want to upload to WebFS. Upload the Zip file to WebFS and then click "Unzip" next to the Zip file. The contents of the Zip file (including any folder structure) will be extracted. You may use WinZip or 7-Zip to create the Zip file on your computer. 7-Zip is free to use (even for commercial purposes) and is available at www.7-zip.org
